Close the day

Count the cash and the wallets against what Diwaan expects, and record every difference with a name.

Closing the day checks that what is in the drawer and in each wallet matches the sales and payments recorded at the till. It happens every evening, and it takes a few minutes.

Close the day

  1. At the till, choose Close the day. Diwaan shows what it expects in the drawer and in each wallet or bank account, each in its own currency.
  2. Count the cash in the drawer and enter the total.
  3. For each wallet or bank account, enter the balance you see. The reference of a payment is typed by hand, so check these against the phone or the statement.
  4. Choose Close the day.

If the count differs

Diwaan shows the difference. Recount first. If it is real, close anyway and record who found it and why. Every difference, and every amount of cash taken out of the drawer, is recorded with a name.

If the till was offline

A day closed while some records are still waiting to be sent is provisional. When a late record arrives, it amends the reconciliation, never the count you entered.
