The Diwaan till prints on 58 mm and 80 mm thermal receipt printers that accept ESC/POS commands, which is most of them. There is nothing to install.
What works where
| Printer connection | Works from |
|---|---|
| Bluetooth Low Energy | The till in Chrome on Android or a computer, installed or in the browser, and the Diwaan Cashier Android app |
| Bluetooth, paired in phone settings | The Diwaan Cashier Android app. Pair the printer in the phone's Bluetooth settings first |
| USB | The till in Chrome on a computer |
Connect the printer
- Switch the printer on and load paper with the shiny side facing the print head.
- At the till, tap More, then Receipt printer.
- Tap Connect a printer and pick it from the list.
- Choose the paper width: 80 mm or 58 mm.
- Tap Print a test receipt. A short receipt with your business name and today's date prints.
- Turn on Print after every sale if you want each receipt printed without tapping Print.
What the receipt shows
Your business name, address and tax number; the receipt number, date, branch, till and cashier; each line with quantity, price and item code; the item count and total; how it was paid and the change, for example Paid. Change: 30.00.; and a QR code that opens a copy of the receipt.
If nothing prints
The till says what happened, for example The printer did not answer. Check it is on and in range, then try again. The sale is already recorded; printing only makes the paper copy.
- Check the printer has paper and the lid is closed.
- Print the printer's own self-test page. If that fails, the problem is the printer.
- Move the phone closer. Bluetooth printers work best within a few metres.
- For a paired printer, remove the pairing in the phone's Bluetooth settings and pair again.
