Use a barcode scanner

Plug in or pair a handheld scanner and scan straight into the sale.

Steps

  1. Set the scanner to keyboard mode, so it types the code and presses Enter. Most handheld scanners work this way out of the box.
  2. Connect it by USB, or pair it by Bluetooth in the device's settings.
  3. Open the Sell screen at the till, with no text field selected.
  4. Scan an item. It is added to the sale.
Typing in the search field still searches. A scanner types much faster than a person, which is how the till tells them apart.
