When you send an invoice from Diwaan, the email or text includes a pay link. Your customer opens it on any phone, sees the invoice and pays it. You do not need to watch for the money or type anything in.
What your customer sees
- The invoice, with its lines, total and due date.
- A choice of Mobile money or Card. The mobile money services shown depend on the country, for example EVC Plus, Zaad, Sahal, eDahab, M-Pesa, telebirr or D-Money.
- For mobile money, they enter their number. Their phone shows a prompt, and they approve it with their PIN. The page says Approve the payment on your phone. This page updates by itself.
- When the payment arrives, the page shows it as paid and the customer receives a receipt by email or text.
What happens in Diwaan
- The payment is recorded against the invoice. A full payment marks it paid; a smaller one marks it part-paid with the amount still owed.
- It posts to the books at once: your mobile money or bank account goes up, and money owed to you goes down.
- The same payment is never recorded twice, even if the provider sends its notice more than once.
If the payment does not go through
If the customer declines the prompt, or it times out, the page says so plainly and offers to try again. Nothing is recorded, and the invoice stays open.
Choose how you collect
Open Settings, then Payments, and connect a collection provider for your country. Connections are being switched on country by country; the page lists the ones available to you. Until you connect one, the pay link shows the bank and mobile money details printed on your invoice, so customers can still pay you directly.
